Before we get to the game.

A note about the running joke about Larry, Darryl and Darryl.  I had dinner with a number of readers of my blog, and several did not know the background of Larry, Darryl and Darryl.  They understood it was a pop culture reference somewhere, but not the origin.  Since 2 out of 6 didn't get the reference, that means hundreds of my readers don't get the joke.  They are from 1980's Newhart show.  Worth Youtubing a few episodes.

A note about the Monty Python figures.  You man notice figures from Monty Python and the Holy Grail in the mix below.  They are from Studio Miniatures, Medieval Mayhem collection.  Now that 25mm ADLG events are happening, I'll be adding more to the mix.

And now, our game:

Deployment:
The Yi win the initiative and elect to attack in the plains.  Larry selects a field, a gully, which was removed, and a gentle hill.  The Yi take a plantation, a field and a road.
On the Yi's right, 3 pike, supported by a unit of halberds, crossbow and 4 units of lights

In their center, a nearly identical force.

On their left, 4 units of elite heavy cavalry, supported by 2 units of light horse.
On the Anglo-Irish left, Darryl deploys two longbow and a light horse.
Behind the hill, Larry deploys a longbow unit and Clan Jordan.  In the gap between the hill and the plantation is the Knights of Sir Robin and Clan Ramsey.

On the right, Darryl has 3 units of Galloglaich, Sir Bedivere's knights and supporting bowmen and lights.
This was a bad deployment on my part.  His pike may be mediocre, but he has 6 of them facing 3 of my heavy foot.  If his cavalry is patient, I run the risk of having my center taken out.

Turn 1:

The Koreans are not one to dawdle.  They charge across the board.
Their horsemen also gallop at speed.
Darryl's longbow double-time to the hill.  The Irish light horse take up a harassment position on the flank of the Korean main battle line.
Larry advances slowly.

While Darryl, not at all.  His ambush is revealed to be two units of longbow.  One nearly gains the position behind the fortification line.
Turn 2:
The Koreans cannot ignore the light horse on their flanks, and send their crossbowmen after it.  They also aggressively go for the hill with their lights and halberds.  But that's it for their command points, and the pike hold firm.
The Koreans second command is also command point starved, and only send forward their lights.
The Korean light horse peek around the fortification and shoot.
The Irish light horse decide, if they are dragging away a unit, lets drag it way out of line.  The remaining Irish forces ascend the hill.
Darryl gets enough command points to position his longbow.
Turn 3:
So far, there has been some shooting, but the score is zero-zero.

Correction, zero-one!
The Korean pike move forward.

A kern unit, MVP of the last game, stands against a charge of Korean light foot in the plantation, and is summarily destroyed.  The Koreans have successfully invested the plantation.  This is not a good thing.  This means my longbowmen will have to try to deal with them, and that is just a waste of resources.
One bright spot, Yi light horse takes a hit.
Larry charges the Koreans on the hill, sending them packing and now hold the heights, while flanking the pike line.
Missiles exchanged.  Clan Ramsey takes a hit.
The fight for the plantation continues.  A Korean horse unit is dispersed by longbow.
The Koreans have 7 points towards their demoralization level of 28.
The Anglo-Irish have 3 points towards their demoralization level of 21.

Turn 4:
A blurry shot, but an important one.  Yi pike charge, overlapping Clan Ramsey.  They are +3 for a 5.  Clan Ramsay is +0 for a 5 as well, but wins ties against pike.  Sir Robin's knights show unusual bravery, and do 2 points to their opponents.
The longbow on the left of the line, also fight abnormally well, doing two hits to their foe.
Yi crossbowmen chase the Irish light horse off the board.
The other Yi crossbowmen take the Anglo-Irish longbow in the flank, and rout them.  Korean heavy horse charge!
Down the line the lancers go.  Plus 2-1 in their favor except against against Clan O'Lyre, which is 3-1!  The Norse gods smiled upon the Galloglaich this day as only one began to give way, the rest held.
Larry runs to Clan Ramsey and is successful in a rally.  They recover their lost cohesion point in time to take another.  Elsewhere on the hill, the Yi halberdiers are taken in the flank and destroyed.  Sir Robin's Knights cut through their opponents and pursue.  Even the Irish noble horse gets in a flank shot on a pike unit.
The plantation is still being contested, by a Kern and a Longbow.  I don't have to hold it, I just have to keep him from using it.
Axes are causing horrendous damage upon Yi horsemen.  3 have cohesion hits, one is destroyed.

The Koreans have 18 points towards their demoralization level of 28.
The Anglo-Irish have 9 points towards their demoralization level of 21.

Turn 5:
Clan Jordan muffs a die roll, despite having someone on the pikes flank, uphill, and with two supports, he manages to only tie the pike unit he is facing.
Clan Ramsey has his flank turned by pike, and his rear by crossbow.
The plantation fight continues.
Korean horse breaks off, but not out of longbow range.
A different view of the fight for the hill on the left.  Clan Jordan redeems themselves, destroying a pike.

Clan Ramsey destroys their foe as well.
Darryl has settled down to rally and shoot.

The Koreans have 21 points towards their demoralization level of 28.
The Anglo-Irish have 10 points towards their demoralization level of 21.

Turn 6:
Irish Nobles are crushed by Yi pike.  Darryl and Larry have pulled a crushing win here, but the Yi army is huge at 28 units.  And one thing the Anglo-Irish do not do well is redeploy.  They are slow and all the generals are barely competent.
The Koreans have brought in a unit of halberds to face the Galloglaich.
The Korean pike have turned.
Darryl's longbow have created a pike sandwich.  Sir Robin's knights have impacted the pike block for a win as well.
A missile fire exchange scores a hit on the Yi Crossbow.
A Galloglaich charge against halberd which scores 3 hits of cohesion.  Sir Bedivere's knights covers their flank.

The Koreans have 27 points towards their demoralization level of 28.
The Anglo-Irish have 11 points towards their demoralization level of 21.

Turn 7:

Possibly this horse unit against Sir Bedivere?  Nope, Bedivere's knights was destroyed in 6-1 die roll.  The Korean halberdiers were saved and my Galloglaich took a hit.
The Koreans have 27 points towards their demoralization level of 28.
The Anglo-Irish have 14 points towards their demoralization level of 21.

The Longbow in the plantation was taken in the rear and destroyed.
The Koreans have 27 points towards their demoralization level of 28.
The Anglo-Irish have 15 points towards their demoralization level of 21.

But a Yi pike unit fell here.
The Koreans have 28 points towards their demoralization level of 28 for the win.
The Anglo-Irish have 15 points towards their demoralization level of 21.

So what went right.  The Irish were able to turn the Koreans main battle line on the left, and take advantage of the hill for defense.  That and there was luck involved in the exchanges.

What went wrong was more troubling.  The Irish had a significant portion of it's forces separated from the main body.  Allowing the Koreans an attempt, with 6 pike vs 3 swordsmen, to defeat them in detail. The fight in the plantation went badly in the beginning, but the remaining forces were able to interfere to keep the Koreans from exploiting that advantage totally.  If the Koreans had not taken a shot on the Irish right line, the battle would have ended in a draw.
